Members and guests
What an exceptional week of good weather and golf at the PGC. Wednesday
32 ladies played, followed by 51 men on Thursday (nearly beat the record of
55). Saturday we saw an excellent field of 92 men and ladies play in brilliant

played host to 40 ladies playing pennant and on Tuesday due to terrible weather
the course was closed mid morning.

As you all would be aware the PGC board and many of our members for some time
have been concerned about the number of ‘free loaders’ who have not been paying
their green fees.
The board has appointed Glenn Anderson as our
Course Ranger in an effort to curb this practice. Once we have the appropriate
signs put in place warning non members that they must pay their green fees
Glenn will be able to commence this valuable service to the club. We thank you
Ando and do ask members to assist and support him by going the ‘right thing’.
The board would also like to announce that Bryden’s Tyrepower have agreed to
sponsor the Golfer of the Year awards. We are grateful as a club to have
sponsors such as Bryden’s come on board with this award. As the club has just
renewed most of our sponsorships we will provide a list next week of all our
sponsors. Please remember Bryden’s when next purchasing your tyres.

Message from Maureen & Merle:
On Wednesday 22nd May 2013 the PGC
ladies will be holding their Longest Morning Tea starting after golf at 2.00pm.
All members are welcome to attend with the cost being a Gold Coin. For further
details please contact either Merle or Maureen.
Message from Pottsy: As mentioned last week at the request from
members we will be having a “Phone a member” SAUSAGE day on 1st June 2013,
which will be a stableford event. This week we will put up a list of members
along with a timesheet (Shotgun start at 12.15pm) and ask members (Men and
Ladies) to view the members list and contact someone whom you have not seen
around the club for some time. Please ask Virginia for telephone numbers if you
wish to ring any of our members for a game. Everyone will receive a ‘free
sausage at the start of play’ just to get you fired up. (Is that with
mustard???) The event will be sponsored by our own PGC members Kim
Callaghan, Julie Burke, David Callaghan and the man of the moment David Burke
(it is going to be a long six months). Thanks team, your support is greatly
appreciated.
It was great to see 92 players on Saturday with a large percentage of members
staying back for the presentations. Also with the data now being established
from the Bryden’s Tyrepower Golfer of the year awards we were able to identify
that we had 10 members playing their first game for some time. Thanks everyone
for making an enjoyable day.
This Saturday we have the 2nd round of the Maurie Goodear 4BBB and look forward
to seeing a good field. Early weather prediction is NO rain so come along and
enjoy the course and the excellent company. (Possibly the best day of the week)
The pennant sides have been selected as per below and will also be on the
clubhouse noticeboard. I would like to thank these members for giving the PGC
their support and time in this event.
